About the Role
American Express is hiring an Analyst - Data Analytics for its Analytics, Investment and Marketing Enablement (AIM) team within Global Commercial Services Marketing.
The role focuses on developing analytical solutions and strategies that support commercial business growth, profitability, acquisition and marketing effectiveness. The position involves using data science, quantitative analysis and machine learning techniques to generate actionable business insights.
The role also provides exposure to emerging Artificial Intelligence and Generative AI capabilities, including applications involving customer journey optimization, semantic modeling and automated insights.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop innovative analytical solutions and strategies for commercial business problems.
- Apply data science and quantitative methods to generate actionable business insights.
- Use data mining and statistical techniques including regression, clustering and decision trees.
- Explore emerging AI and Generative AI techniques to improve targeting precision and analytical productivity.
- Work with cross-functional stakeholders, business partners, technology teams and end users of analytics solutions.
- Identify opportunities, define success metrics and help deliver analytical initiatives.
- Prioritize analytical projects based on business impact.
- Manage multiple projects and collaborate with teams across functions and geographies.
- Communicate analytical findings and recommendations clearly to stakeholders and senior leaders.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Master's degree in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or Economics, or a PhD.
- Experience applying statistical and machine learning techniques to business problems.
- Strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills.
- Ability to solve business problems using data-driven approaches.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.
