Abstrabit Technologies is hiring Software Engineering Interns to work on AI-powered products and production software.
As a Software Engineering Intern at Abstrabit, you will work primarily on the application layer of AI-powered products.
You will build frontend and backend features, APIs, integrations, workflows and other product components that connect with AI models and inference services.
The role provides hands-on experience with production software and modern AI systems including LLMs, RAG pipelines and AI agents.
- Build frontend and backend product features.
- Design and consume REST APIs and internal services.
- Work with databases, authentication, file storage and third-party integrations.
- Connect applications with AI models, inference APIs, RAG systems and AI agents.
- Debug application issues across frontend, backend and integrations.
- Write tests and improve the reliability of existing features.
- Deploy and maintain applications using cloud platforms and modern deployment tools.
- Review work with experienced engineers and improve implementations based on technical feedback.
- Good programming fundamentals and problem-solving ability.
- Working knowledge of at least one programming language.
- Basic understanding of web applications, APIs, databases and Git.
- At least one meaningful software project through coursework, personal projects, internship, hackathon or similar experience.
- Ability to understand existing code and make changes.
- Willingness to investigate problems and understand the underlying cause.
- Ability to communicate clearly when facing technical problems or needing additional context.
Familiarity with JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Node.js or similar technologies can be helpful, but interns are not expected to already know the complete technology stack.
Interns will gain exposure to LLMs, RAG pipelines, AI agents and private AI infrastructure while their primary responsibility remains software and product engineering.
Abstrabit uses AI tools as part of its engineering workflow. Candidates may use AI tools during development, but they remain responsible for understanding, testing, debugging and explaining the code they produce.
Review of basic eligibility, projects and evidence of building or experimenting with technology.
Candidates work through a practical engineering problem and discuss their approach with an engineer. This may include explaining a solution, debugging an issue or making a small change.
Discussion about the role, learning goals, expectations and suitability for the engineering environment.
- This is not an AI research or model-training internship.
- The primary responsibility is software and product engineering at the application layer.
